Topološki molekulski deskriptori
Hemijski Pregled 61(6) (2020) 131-136
Abstract Nature is diverse and perplexed. The extraction of the information from such an environment requires parameters by which the objects can be differentiated. In order to accomplish this task, the properties of an object need to be clearly defined. The same way of reasoning can be applied to chemistry. An idea that physico–chemical properties depend on molecular structure is a cornerstone of modern chemistry. Usually, it is difficult to identify and quantitatively determine this dependence. Topological molecular descriptors are of enormous help because they facilitate gathering the information encoded into two–dimensional molecular structure.

Da li će se menjati definicija mola?
Hemijski Pregled 59(3) (2018) 54-55
Abstract The change in the definition of the SI unit of mass and amount of substance, recently proposed by IUPAC, is presented and commented. According to the proposed change, the Avogadro number will be considered as a constant integer, equal to 602214076000000000000000, exactly.

Survey of graph energies
Mathematics Interdisciplinary Research 2 (2017) 85-129
Abstract The graph energy is a graph–spectrum–based quantity, introduced in the 1970s. After a latent period of 20–30 years, it became a popular topic of research both in mathematical chemistry and in “pure” spectral graph theory, resulting in over 600 published papers. Eventually, scores of different graph energies have been conceived. In this article we provide the basic facts on graph energies, in particular historical and bibliographic data.

Graphenes-aromatic giants
Resonance 16 (2011) 1238-1245
Abstract Recently, extremely large benzenoid hydrocarbons have been synthesized. These compounds resemble graphite in many ways, and have been named graphenes. Because of their nonstandard properties, graphenes have already found numerous applications, especially as special-purpose materials in electronics. In this article we outline the basic chemical facts on graphenes. (Republished article. It has been selected to re-appear in the special issue of this journal that clebrate IYC 2011.)

Čudo svetog Januariusa
Hemijski Pregled 49 (2008) 26-28
Abstract The alleged blood of St. Januarius becomes liquefied several times per year, since 1385. The possible rational explanation of this miracle is thixotropy, a physico-chemical phenomenon that some gels liquefy when stirred or vibrated and solidify again when left to stand. A simple recipe for preparing a thixotropic blood-like substance is described.

Grafeni - Aromatični džinovi
Hemijski Pregled 48 (2007) 100-103
Abstract Graphenes are very large polycyclic aromatic molecules. Such compounds have been recently synthesized and found to possess interesting physico-chemical, especially optoelectronic, properties. The main chemical facts on graphenes are outlined.

Fotografije atoma i molekula
Hemijski Pregled 48 (2007) 114-116
Abstract By means of scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) it is possible to make photographs of atoms and molecules, as well as atoms within molecules. The basic principles of STM are outlined and a few photographs shown and briefly commented.
